My name is David Lee and I am the father of Katie – a horse mad teenager!

As a family we were introduced to the subject of horses and horse riding lessons when our daughter Katie announced at the age of 6 that she wanted to take up riding lessons.
Being new to the whole subject we lacked the confidence or knowledge to provide appropriate guidance to Katie and frankly felt a real lack of control around the whole experience and didn’t really know where to start.
By hook or by crook we did discover a lot of useful information and by trial and error, we eventually found the right balance of tuition and riding facilities
My aim in this blog is to help parents and riders who may be in a similar position to where we were all those years ago and to help you understand what to expect when you set out on this fascinating and rewarding journey – how best to help your child to progress in their sport, gain skill and knowledge and most of all, safely enjoy the whole experience.
